About Us
The first of its kind, Reporting as a Service (RaaS) platform enabling organizations to drive efficient fundraising and spend more time focusing on their mission by providing clear and concise insights through automated reporting to stakeholders.

Reporting Xpress has solved the challenge of generating and securely distributing fundraising and financial data across a nonprofit organization. We help organizations turn raw data into clear, actionable insights—empowering teams to make informed decisions and drive greater impact

  • PARIS automates reporting and distribution of daily project and budget reporting.

  • ATHENS is your Analytics & Tracking Hub for Engagement and fundraising success. ATHENS can include a wide variety of custom fundraising oriented reports for things like development officer performance management, campaign and appeal management, activity and opportunity tracking, board reports, stewardship reporting, etc.

  • Xpress Analytics lets you leverage an AI assistant to dive deeper into your data than ever before.

  • Endowment Reporting done for you. This is our automated endowment solution that allows you to streamline donor-facing endowment report production. You are able to create a beautiful report format in Microsoft Word that our system will auto-populate with data from across multiple systems for each donor.  This typically results in a time savings of up to 80% over most organizations' manual processes while still allowing you to personalize individual reports with personal messages from your development team.

Any nonprofit looking to simplify and modernize their reporting can use Reporting Xpress products; however a majority of our customers are nonprofits actively using Blackbaud software in their organization. From higher education institutions to community and healthcare foundations, our customers are looking to get more insights out of their data.
Reporting Questions
You will be assigned a Reporting Xpress Implementation team that includes a project manager, subject matter expert(s) who have vast experience with the software your data is coming from, a report designer, and someone who will work with your IT team to configure everything for our single-sign-on access for users.

Your Reporting Xpress implementation team handles the data management as part of the automated report design process. Assuming your data is in good order, you will not have to do anything yourself.

We like to say if you can draw it on a piece of paper, we can probably give it to you, but it is really more than just the appearance of reports that is customizable. We can blend data from multiple sources, create new data points via calculations, and include custom logic in your automated reports.

You will no longer spend any time on these tasks. Your automated reports will run and be distributed automatically. In addition, because everything is automated, we can update reports daily so report users always have access to current information in their reports.
Typically yes. We can replicate your existing reports exactly in our automated platform or get very close.
Yes. Reports can be output in a variety of file formats, including: CSV, PDF, Excel, DOCX, PPT, etc.
Yes. We can combine data from multiple systems or sources into reports. We blend that data into a one-time use temporary data warehouse from which we generate your reports.
We have a variety of data visualizations available including all the ones you would expect (pie, bar, line, ploy, etc.) as well as many others.
Yes. Most of the custom reports we produce will include the client’s logo and often their color scheme. We understand having that on reports often adds value.
Yes. You can add people outside your organization, like board members, consultants, etc., to report distribution lists by their email addresses.
Security and Access
  • All of our processing takes place at AWS in their secure environments.
  • All data and reports are encrypted at rest and in transit.
  • For automated reporting, we do not store any of your data.
  • Data is processed in a one-time use temporary data warehouse each time reports are generated and the data and data warehouse are immediately destroyed.
  • The US Department of Defense refers to this as a “fleeting data strategy” because the data is not stored in one place long enough to be an attack surface.
  • Xpress Data Sets are encrypted and stored in an area at AWS that is not connected to the outside world and there is no direct access to the data.
  • Only users who have authenticated via your organization (i.e. have an email address from your organization) can access the applications that use that data.

There are multiple layers of security, monitors including third-party service, and encryption protecting your data.  We can share detailed information so your security team can review it if you become a prospective customer.  We have never had anyone not be comfortable with our security precautions.

No. Report users do not need to be registered users of the underlying applications your report data comes from.  That is one of our advantages.

Yes. We can process and store data in AWS data centers in Canada as necessary.

Data Sources and Integrations
Yes. We have a variety of ways that we can accept data from sources, including third-party service providers, on-premise software, other SAAS software, spreadsheets, etc.

The most common software we integrate with is Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge NXT and Financial Edge NXT via their SKYAPI, but it is possible to integrate with just about any software that allows API access to the data you would like us to use.

Generally yes. Most data including custom fields can be accessed either through Blackbaud’s SKYAPI or though some other techniques we have.

Absolutely. This is our first and most popular use case.  We call it PARIS.

Getting Started
It depends on how many custom reports or Xpress Data Sets (kind of like a report for our AI tool) you need, and in the case of PARIS, where we generate multiple daily reports for each Financial Edge NXT Project, the number of active projects you have. We are happy to have a quick call where we can discuss your requirements and provide a quick pricing estimate.

There is never a per-user fee. You can always have as many users as you would like.

You can try our Xpress Analytics product for 30 days at no cost.  Custom reports must be customized so we do not have a way to trial those, but you can get a good idea of how things will look from a demo, or we can usually arrange for you to see a live customer system (shown by the customer) if you would like.

We do include training as part of our implementation process but most end users opt out of it.  The Reporting Xpress portal is so intuitive, most people can follow simple instructions to access their information.  Everything a user can see has been security trimmed for them, so they only see navigation items in our UI that apply to the reports they have permission to interact with.

Xpress Analytics and AI questions
We actually use most or all of the major LLM providers (except Deep Seek). We curate the list from time to time to provide a good mix of models that can best address the kinds of data analysis our customers are doing. There is currently no single best LLM for analytics and SQL code generation, and some are better at certain types of requests than others, so we have a controller that allows us to curate a list of available models for you and you to switch models at will to find the one that can help you the best for whatever you are trying to do.

No. One of the things that makes Xpress Analytics unique is our proprietary architecture and methods that allow us to leverage any LLM without sharing any of your actual data with them. We don’t trust any of them with sensitive data and don’t believe you should, either. Their policies are quietly changing all the time and you would not want sensitive information from your organization inadvertently exposed, especially if it might become part of an AI company’s training data.

Yes. You can push the results directly into Office 365 Excel for further formatting, adding visualizations, and sharing.

There are two ways to get started with Xpress Analytics. The first is to just start exploring your Xpress Datasets by conversion just like you would with a human data analyst.  You cannot break anything or corrupt your data.  If your use case is fundraising or direct marketing analytics you can start by exploring the library of included advanced analytics reports that were created using AI.  These may provide all of the actionable information you need to keep you busy for a while.

You can look directly at the SQL code it wrote or if SQL is not your strong suit, you can look at the business logic that the SQL is based on described in plain English.  It will explain exactly how the data is being crunched, just like a good human data analyst would.
